Calling is about who we are who God has made us to be our gifts and passions how those work together with others to be the eyes, hands and feet of Christ in the world. Finding the place we fit, the us-shaped space in the jigsaw of God's community. It's about seeing the opportunities both where we are and how we might need to move or grow to step into further ones. It's about serving God in the world through our work, relationships and activities.

Spending our time, energy and resources perhaps in sacrificial ways. Yet discovering a renewing source of love and peace within the struggles. Knowing who you are and what you do matters. Whatever it is, it matters to God. As Fredrick Buechner says "vocation is the place where our deepest gladness meets the world's deep need". So let us pray, Loving God,

Help us to discover more of your calling our lives. You call us into relationship with you. You call us into being itself. You call us into belonging to your family through Jesus. You call us into becoming more like Jesus. You call us into serving in your image. Creating, sustaining, caring, loving, witnessing, worshiping, reconciling and renewing. May we be ever ready to embrace and respond to your call and our lives as your faithful people, Amen.
